Article 1 of the U.S. Constitution, establishes the Legislative Branch, consisting of a bicameral Congress (The Senate and the House of Representatives) whose main job is to make the laws.
Article 2 establishes the Executive Branch, whose power is vested in the President. Its principal job is to enforce the laws enacted by Congress.
Lastly, article 3 establishes the Judicial Branch that consists of one Supreme Court, whose judges are appointed for life unless they resign due to bad behavior, and establishes other outlines in which the branch should act. Their main duty is to interpret the laws and to determine whether actions from the Executive and the Legislative are unconstitutional or not.
