Ok so basically what you want to do is distribute always when you have parentheses, what that means is the number on the outside in this case which is 3 we are going to multiply that by the numbers on the inside which is (y+2) . so 3 times y is simply 3y and 3 times 2 is 6. We are not done yet because we still have the other half which is ( Y+4) . So lets bring it down ! :). Y+4+3y+6 so we can add 3y and y because they have y which is like terms . 3y + y is 4y 3 + 1 is 4 so just add the y . then we add 4+6 which is 10. So our result is 4y+10. Hoped that helped !
