Stem cells could be useful in both plants and animals in that they have the capacity to replace damaged tissues or organs in the body of plants/animals.

Stem cells are actively dividing and undifferentiated cells that have the capacity to differentiate and become specialized to some specific functions. Thus, they have the capacity to replace any tissue or organ in the body of organisms, if necessary.

Without these cells, it will become difficult, if not impossible, for damaged cells of tissues or organs in the body of plants/animals to be replaced for healing purposes.
