#1) How was this group treated by the U.S government during World War I?

Answer: The way they were treated by the U.S. government during World War I was that certain constitutional principles were ignored. They even allowed for the names of streets that had german names to be changed. But the most drastic was that the murder of German Americans was overlooked and let go.

Answer: They were discriminated against and accused of being disloyal.

Answer: They no longer felt same. Some event went as far as changing their names just to hide the fact that they were German. They could no longer be proud and instead a feeling of shame replaced pride.

Answer: The way their life changes was very drastic. They no longer felt safe and went on living while hiding their true identities in order to blend in with the rest of the American society.

Answer: The way that the U.S. government treated this group was also harsh. They were supected of being disloyal and were distrusted and treated unfairly by the government.

Answer: They were mistrusted. The main reason was the issues that took place from the tension between the United States and Mexico.
