What is median, and how do I solve this?

The median is 49 and u can solve it by putting the numbers in order, then cross out the numbers from the end each and keep doing it till u find the number in the middle, that's the median.

The median is the middle number

First put ur numbers in order...this is very important
42, 36, 49, 52, 61....the middle number (the median) is 49

Just to let u know, if there is an odd number of numbers, there will be 1 middle number. But if there is an even numbers of numbers, there will be 2 middle numbers...in that case take those 2 middle numbers and divide by 2 to get the median.
