Cystic fibrosis, which is usually lethal before reproductive ages, is a homozygous recessive disease. why do cases continue to arise, even though people with the disease rarely live to reproduce?
i'm just guessing here but if the person with the disease has living relatives, they all have the possibility of passing on the recessive disease to their children. that is likely why cases still arise.
