Help! Finals! 10 POINTS!? Please help with this question. It's going to be on my finals on Tuesday and I lost my notes! I would really appreciate it! Question: Summmarize the main events, per phase, in mitosis, and meiosis. Mitosis: interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, and cytokinesis. Meiosis: Prophase I,...

Respuesta :

oh boy. i got some work to do.
i had this last year in 6th grade lol.
during mitosis the cell divides
during interphase (for both mitosis and meiosis) the cell is building up for mitosis/meiosis
during prophase the nucleolus disappears (somehow, idk, that's just what i remember) and chromosomes burst out of where the nucleus was. (i think this applies to both mitosis and meiosis.) some spindle fibers are formed at this stage.
during metaphase the spindle fibers line up the chromosomes in the middle of the nucleus.
during anaphase the chromosomes are split apart by the spindle fibers.
during telophase the cell starts to split and produces new membranes on the cells.
during cytokinesis the two cells are formed and they each grow a new nucleus. or something.
