Cypress Swamp was the original name of the area that is now City Park.
Cypress Swamp is a large wetland with forest that is situated in Collier County, Maryland, United States. Cypress Swamp covers about 2,400 square miles and it extends into both the eastern and southern part of the swampy Everglades. Cypress Swamp was purchased by the Nature Conservancy in 1957, and was later leased to Calvert County that now operates the wetland as a county park.
