the answer is x equals negative 4

First Like terms. So -9+4 = -5 then you take -12x+24x= 12x Now you have 12x-5=43
Next your going to get ride of the -5. Add five to each side.
Now you have 12x=48
Then your going to divide 12 from each side
Finely you'll have x= 4
