It is given that Louis is constructing a perpendicular bisector of a line GH.
Let the line GH be x units of length.
Louis is constructing a perpendicular bisector. So he should follow the following steps :
1. Louis should take the help of a compass and place the needle of the compass on one end of the line and take a measurement that is equal to the more than half the length of the line GH.
2. Then keeping the compass needle at one end of he line, Louis have to draw an arc above and below the line GH.
3. Now with the same measurement in the compass, place the compass needle on the other end and similarly cut two arcs above and below intersecting the previous arcs.
4. Now join the intersecting point with a straight line.
5. This is the perpendicular bisector of the given line GH.
