1. Tourists visiting the state of California might be interested in making time to see its magnificent natural wonders. They might enjoy traveling through forests of towering, ancient redwoods venturing on hikes deep in the shadowy woods, or trekking along the edges of snow-capped mountains. However, if travelers are the kind of people who like to let their imaginations run wild, they might want to visit an area that defies the laws of gravity.
2. It may sound fantastical, but just outside of Santa Cruz, California, not far from the Pacific Ocean, is an area called the Mystery Spot. This mystifying place is nestled in a canyon on the side of a hill. The spot, which is no larger than 150 feet in diameter, seems to defy all natural laws.
Discovery of the Mystery Spot
3. The amazing qualities of this location were first reported by the people who own and operate the Mystery Spot. The owners say that the mysterious properties of this location were first discovered in 1939, when the land was benign surveyed for purchase. While the surveyor was doing his job, his compass began to fluctuate wildly. This fluctuation was completely abnormal, and the surveyor could not obtain an accurate reading. Although he and his workers were confused, they blamed the variance on underground minerals or the possibility of barbed wire being buried nearby.
