Cross multiply

3 1/2 X = 5 (2 1/3) Change the mixed numbers into improper.

7/2 X = 5 ( 7/3) Solve for "X." Multiply both sides of equation by reciprocal of 7/2, which is 2/7

(2/7 (7/2)X = 5 (7/3)(2/7) X= 10/3 =Just divide 10 by 3. You should get a whole number
