One of the primary reasons why the bottom of the troposphere is warmer than its top is because the Ozone layer absorbs the UV radiation present at the top layer of the troposphere.

The troposphere is the uppermost layer of the atmosphere. While it is a thick layer; the top proportion and the bottom proportion differ in their features with respect to the temperature.

The UV radiation that are directed from the sun towards this layer are absorbed in most of the proportion by the ozone layer, which makes the top proportion cooler than the bottom one.

Hence, it can be concluded that the bottom of the troposphere is warmer than its top proportion because of the absorption of UV rays by the ozone layer.
