Interest groups, such as the National Rifle Association or the American Association of Retired Persons, concern themselves with specific issues or problems. While their members may have a variety of concerns, the group at large focuses on are of concern. They are not specifically discussed in the Constitution (neither are Democrats or Republicans) and their support tends to be much more narrow than the political parties.
