Barbie was created March 9, 1959. Barbie was created by the American toy company Mattel inc. MGA Entertainment inc. stole the concept of the dolls, and name from Mattel inc. Mattel objected to MGA's use of the doll because they stole the name and concept from them, Carter Bryant was a worker for both buisness' and he created the bratz dolls. A few years after MGA began selling the bratz dolls Mattel sued Bryant and MGA for alleging copy right infringment. Bryant was on the Mattel payroll when he created the doll, so it was considered trade secrets. MGA stole the idea and name from another company seceretly. The court sided with Mattel because when Bryant created the doll he was still on the Mattel payroll and the name and design were considered trade secret. The court ordered MGA to pay $100 million in damages. Bratz dolls were rebranded but were discontinued again in 2016 due to being poorly made. May 20, 2017 it was announced they would be produced again, in addition they would be collabing with a fashion designer Hayden Williams in 2018. So they still make the dolls, but they are rebranded.
