Islam provides gender equality. Things like the hijab are a source of empowerment and not oppression as it’s a way to force society to see women for who they are instead of their body. When Islam came about it gave women rights they didn’t have before, and certainly didn’t have in other parts of the world so it’s equality. If there happens to be oppression then it’s people’s way of practicing and not the religion itself. The prophet Muhammed pbuh himself was a feminist.
