This question is very subjective and the question is not specific. For starters how many people are in the family, are there any special needs that need to be met, and so on. I am a “pepper” who is prepared for typhoons, tsunamis, and economic collapse. I know what I am talking about and I know how this type of stuff should work. Without anymore interruptions here’s my take on the question.

If a family‘s emergency fund is $7800 a month they should spend 10% of the money on clothes, 50% of the money on food, and 40% of the money on housing.
