If I were to write a book I would write my steps down as in figuring out what I what to talk about. A lot of steps need to be taken when writing a book, first you need to know what your gonna write about, you need an outline for your story. You don’t need to have it all worked out, but it’s helpful to have a reasonable idea of the shape and direction of your book before you the actual writing begins. When writing a story I would recommend doing research, you’ll likely want to spend time in libraries absorbing everything you can about your subject. At some point after deciding upon what you will be writing and doing research you will need to write a rough draft. After your first draft you should go through and edit, fix anything that is in need of fixing and if you encounter writers block find yourself some inspiration. After your first draft you'll need a second drafter for you to apply your revisions and edits, the second draft is also a chance to address more granular questions about your writing. After you have completed all the steps you have finished!
This is everything I know about writing from ELA class.
