Yes I do think they are effective, (although the quote in red is a bit blurry) I see that one of the men's wife doesn't want to be treated as some old maid, but she wants to have a real husband who is there for her and who really wants to talk to her. Just by looking at both posters, I can see that the three main themes are dreams, loneliness, and companionship. .
Yes it would persuade me to both watch the film and read the book because the posters seem very exciting, and I think it would be a book or a film that Ii would not stop until I finish watching or reading till the end.
