Explain one way in which the treatment of slaves in Mexico was different from the treatment of slaves taken in the Indian Ocean Trade in the period 1450 - 1750. *

Respuesta :

The Indian Ocean slave trade was mostly conducted by Muslims. Some slaves that were exchanged through the Indian Ocean usually worked in households and didn’t always have degrading positions. Some actually became free by their owners. The slaves in Mexico were treated horribly and often lived short lives because they were forced to work in silver mines where they often got exposed to mercury. They almost never became free and their children would inherit their slavery.

Answer:

Enslaved people in Mexico were treated different from the treatment of people taken in the Indian Ocean trade. While enslaved people in Mexico was forced to work constantly in mines, slaves from the Indian Ocean trade had more promising fates. Slaves in the Indian Ocean trade worked in homes or at boarders with lenient rules, for a slave, and some were granted rights.
