At summer camp, there are 3 boys for every 4 girls. If there are 63 boys & girls at camp, how many boys are there?​

Answer:

turn it into an equation

since the total number of students is 63 and for every 3 boys are 4 girls

3x + 4x = 63

7x = 63

x = 63/7

x= 9

to get the number of boys

3 x 9 = 27

therefore the number of boys is 27
