Most of our natural resources are embedded beneath the subsurface at different depth. These resources could find their way to depths and positions where that can be mined or to surface at divergent plate boundaries.

Divergent plate boundaries marks the positions where the earth's plates move apart and causing uplift. At this boundary, several resources beneath the subsurface may rise as pressure is eased.

Therefore, the presence of certain natural resources could be due to the occurence of plate tectonics.
