The kangaroo rats are nocturnal animals that eat seeds. They have sensitive ears, with long legs and big feet that helps them to hear predators and then leap in the air.  

One of its major predator is the sidewinter rattlesnake, a two-foot long venomous viper that has a speedy strike.
