In America, the Second Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the right of citizens to own and bear arms, although each state regulates this right in different ways, and even in society there are great ideological differences around this right. Even events of mass shootings so painful for society have caused many politicians to begin to demonstrate against it, especially from the Democratic Party.

Thus, an immediate objective of a speech related to arms control would be the inclusion of said topic within the congressional or executive discussion in the federal government, seeking the implementation of measures in this regard.  In turn, a long-term goal would be a change in the mindset of citizens regarding the use of weapons.
