The goat has adapted to its cold environment, therefore will get the trait of long hair. As the goat mates it will pass on its genes for the long hair trait and this will give the offspring the same trait.
The long hair of the goat would provide it with protection from the harsh weather of the cold environment in which it lives. This would make long hair a dominant trait in the goats due to its benefit for the goats life. Because of this, it can be concluded that the trait would be passed to the goats offspring.
