The sculptor Phidias oversaw building and decorating the Parthenon.
Parthenon was a temple in ancient Greece dedicated to goddess Athena - although it is mostly in ruins now, it can still be visited on the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. Phidias was a famous ancient Greek sculptor, best known for his statue of Zeus at Olympia which used to be one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
