Look at the dotted points  on the line in your graph. check their coordinates, for your ease i am attaching a picture, please have a look.

so the two coordinates we have is : ( 3 , 1 ) , (- 1 , - 5)

Now let's find the gradient from these two coordinates.

[tex]\frac{y_{1}-y_{2} }{x_{1} -x_{2} }\\\\=\frac{1-(-5)}{3-(-1)}\\\\=\frac{6}{4}\\= 1.5[/tex]

Now we use the equation of a straight line and here , you can use any of the coordinates. For my ease, I am using the first one:

[tex]y-y_{1} = m (x-x_{1})\\ y- 1 = \frac{3}{2} (x-3)\\\\2y-2 = 3x - 9\\2y - 3x = -7[/tex]
