So basically people had SO MUCH of their money invested in the stock market that when it crashed all of that money went down the drain they were completely broke *great depression* This was the end roaring 20’s with the flapper dancers and all of the good music and this great period of fun and music and art and life and financial prosperity went away in an instant when the market crashed
