Why is it ‘hace’ when it’s referring to a plural - shouldn’t it be ‘hacen’?

Yes it’s should be because it’s more than one person so it would be “hacen”

“Hace” is probably describing a different noun that isn’t “ellos”. That’s why it doesn’t matter that ellos is plural.
