While they were not the only civilization to invent writing they did invent it around the same time as the ancient Mesopotamians. Combined with the black inc that they used to write on the earliest form of paper it revolutionized a culture. They also invented new ways for harvesting crops, and one way involved the sicle invention. And they used clocks to tell time.
