Translate, in math, is just a fancy word for "change" or "move". We're changing (-5, 2) using x + 3 and y - 1. If the x value is -5, what is x + 3?

(-5) + 3 = -2

And for the y - 1?

(2) - 1 = 1.

Your answer is P'(-2, 1)
