WHO SHOULD SURVIVE
A severe storm has crippled a small ship, the Little Sully, and the only remaining lifeboat has room for only seven people. You have no hope of reaching civilization, but there's a fairly good chance that you can make it to one of many small, uncharted, and unpopulated islands in the area. You may have to remain on such an island for years. Your task is to choose which seven people should be allowed on the lifeboat. In other words, be allowed to survive. Your group needs to come to a united decision on the survivors, so this will require some debate. Responsibilities: Your group needs to decide which 7 people you should save and why. For each person, argue why you would save that person or why you would not save that person. . Who Should Survive?
Dr. Roberts: thirty-seven, Ph.D. in history, college professor, in good health (jogs daily), hobby is botany, enjoys politics, married with one child (Ned).
Mrs. Roberts: thirty-eight, rather obese, diabetic, M.A. in psychology, counselor in a mental health clinic, married to Dr. Roberts, has one child.
Ned: five, son of the Roberts’. Extremely needy and throws temper tantrums when he doesn’t get what he wants.
Mrs. Victor: twenty-three, ninth-grade education, cocktail waitress, married at age sixteen, divorced at age eighteen, can make a meal out of anything.
Jet Thomas: Sixteen years old, Only survivor of his family. Built for labor and handy with construction tools.
Terry Evans: eighteen, trade school education, wears glasses, artistic.
Mr. Winston: twenty-five, starting last year of medical school, suspected criminal activity, physical fitness nut.
Mrs. Winston: twenty-eight, daughter of a minister, college graduate, electronics engineer.
Mr. Stricker: fifty-one, degree in mechanics, married with four children, enjoys outdoors, much experience in construction, quite handy.
Father Francisco: thirty-seven, Catholic, priest, former college athlete, farming background.
Dr. Gerald: sixty-six, doctor in general practice, two heart attacks in the past five years, loves literature and quotes extensively.
