I choose this quote and I don't really know how to put it in words why I agree with whoever said this “America is an improbable idea. A mongrel nation built of ever changing disparate parts.” The quote means that the United States was not expected to be constructed in the way that it is today. Discordant things and people came together and formed America, it is still happening today. Even though America fails more than it accomplishes it has made an enormous impact on the earth's society.
It also has to link with my first paragraph that I wrote What do you think of the word Africa? A lot of people would think of blacks. Now China, did you think of Chinese people or Chinese food? What about South America, probably Hispanics. It could go on and on. But what do you think about North America? Whites are guaranteed to be your answer. What if we got closer to North America? Think about the United States of America without freedom/independence as your answer.
