The system of coming together of two or more nations to form a unique organizational body in which every nation maintains its identity and national control is known as the system of an alliance. Alliances are formed to accomplish joint diplomatic aims, lessen risk while rising rewards and/or purchase supplies.
Such an alliance was formed during the First World War. The alliance system in World War I played a significant role as it divided the entire European powers into rival military camps known as the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente.
