Why were the British considered the winners of the Battle of Bunker Hill even though they lost more men?

Answer:

Becuase the British were trying to keep control of the city and control its valuable seaport. The British decided to take two hills, Bunker Hill and Breed's Hill, in order to gain a tactical advantage. They ended up getting it and had a tactical advantage, and met there goal to recieve the hills.
