Question: What is the effect of day length on plant growth? Hypothesis: Plants will grow more when the day is longer. Describe the experiment you would use to test the hypothesis. Be sure to include variables as well as experimental and control groups.

Respuesta :

i think that can be ture becuase it can happen the longer the week they can grow

Answer:

The experiment to measure if days with more daylight make plants grow more than days with low daylight will measure the size of the stem and weight. Then, we will have one experimental group under permanent artificial led daylight and our control group in regular daylight.

Explanation:

This is a very easy exercise. Here we go.

Day length on plant growth is what we need to measure. So we need to develop an experiment that will answer this question.

To begin with, growth is subjective because plants can grow to different sides. Up, down, right, left. So instead of measuring only one factor, we will measure several. The first one is going to be "stem" longitude. Because it is the body of the plant. The second one is the weight. Because we don't know how much the roots are growing inside the earth. So we are going to put the plants in flower pots to weigh them at the end of the day. Then we are going to register the changes and compare them to the amount of change they achieved during days. Now, days are going to last different amounts of time. Therefore we will classify them by daylight. Now that we have the variables and the approach, we need to establish the groups. In our case well we are going to have 2 different groups. One that grows in daylight and others that grow in artificial led daylight without any contact of daylight. We are going to measure if the permanent daylight makes them grow more than regular daylight and because we are going to measure all the plants we are going to obtain data to see their growth in different seasons and different days. So we could only use one, but the hypothesis says that the more light they receive the more they grow, well let's give them daylight all day.
