Below are the steps when you want to separate zinc chloride form SiO2,
Step 1: Get a container, put the chemicals inside the container and add water
Step 2: After adding water, you shake the container
Step 3: Once the chemicals has been fully shake then you need to filter.
The zinc chloride is very soluble, and will be dissolved in the filtrate, from which the solid can be obtained by evaporation.
The SiO2 will be a residue in the filter paper. Wash it with water, and then evaporate off the water to obtain pure SiO2.
