Many planarians are able to reproduce asexually by fragmentation, they are able to clone themselves by transverse or longitudinal division. Others can also be reproduced asexually by budding.
When asexual reproduction occurs, this earthworm anchors the end of its tail separating it from the anterior portion. Each half regenerates lost parts again becoming new planarians.
