Both gym memberships will eventually have a month in which the cost to attend either gym would be the same. How long would this membership be and how much would it cost? (Show your work.)

Set up a problem: 19.50x+59=9.50x+149. Get similar terms together: 19.50x-9.50x=149-59, 10x=90. Get X by itself: 10x/10=90/10, X=9. The membership would be 9 months. Sub that in to the original problem: 19.50(9)+59=9.50(9)+149. Solve: 175.50+59=85.5+149, 234.50=234.50. The total cost would be $234.50 :)
