To practice being an active silent reader, a student must dismiss the
inclination to use a "reciting voice" (only reading what is there without
thinking about it) and engage a "conversational" voice which means:
A. asking another student to read the assignment and report back
about what it says.
B. using imagination to consider what the author looked and dressed
like.
C. asking questions of the material while reading, creating a mental
conversation between reader and book.
D. reading the entire assignment aloud.
