Answer:

the first problem is 85+10w=50+15w  which is 5.4

the second is 150+2c=120+4c which is 45

Step-by-step explanation

so when writing equalities  you first write the equation with the constant and variable that apply to the same category together. like in the first problem when Liz saved 85 dollars and saved 10 weekly. those numbers applied to one thing so they are put together. you do that for both categories. once you do that you then combine like terms, ( by the way terms are each of the quantities in a ratio, series, or mathematical expression.) so in the problem Liz has 10w and Amelia has 15w .these numbers are alike so you combine them to then get 25w. then you do the same to the constant (which is the number that is by itself) then you divide 135 by 25 to get 5.4=c.

in the second problem you write the equation with the constant and the variable that apply to the same category together. so the first category will be 150+2c which is studio 1 and then the second category will be 120+4c which is then studio 2. just like in the first problem you combine like terms ( the definition for terms is explained in the paragraph above in parentheses).  one you combine the terms you should have 270=6c. one you have this divide 270 by 6 to then get 45=6.

Answer:

Liz: y = 10x + 85

Amelia: y = 15x + 50

Set the equations equal to each other to find out when the get the same amount of money

10x + 85 = 15x + 50

Subtract 10x and 50 from both sides

35 = 5x

Question 3:

Studio 1: y = 2x + 150

Studio 2: y = 4x + 120

Set the equations equal to each other

2x + 150 = 4x + 120

Subtract 2x and 120 from both sides

30 = 2x

Now divide by 2

15 = x

At 15 CD's is when they will equal the same cost.
