Under the number sentence row says

I know the answer is 2 but..

How do I explain it in words?

To explain it in words say. “The answer is 2 because you would first multiply the negative on the inside of the parentheses by the 2 which would give you - (-2). Next, you would multiply the negative on the outside of the parentheses by the -2 inside the parentheses which would give you the answer of 2 because a negative times a negative is a positive.”
