Sam is building a model of an antique car. The scale of his model to the actual car is 1:10. His model is 18 1/2 inches long. How long is the actual car?

I believe the ratio is for every 10 inches the car measure the model measures 1 inch. If the model is 18.5 inches I think the car would be 185 inches long.

The scale is 1:10, every inch of model represents 10 inches of actual car, so the actual car is (10)(18.5 inches)=185 inches
