Let a be the length of each side of square.

We know that, perimeter of a square is

Divide both sides by 4.

[tex]a=\dfrac{54}{4}[/tex]

[tex]a=13.5[/tex]

We know that, diagonal of a square is

[tex]d=\sqrt{2}a[/tex]

[tex]d=(1.414)(13.5)[/tex]

[tex]d=19.089[/tex]

Rounding to the nearest tenth, we get

[tex]d\approx 19.1[/tex]

Therefore, the length of diagonal is about 19.1 cm.
