Critical thinking describes the objective and analytical study of facts in order to reach a rational conclusion. Critical thinking is one of the most special and unique qualities of humans. However, it does not always come naturally to us. Critical thinking must be trained and developed in order to become a natural response towards the world. This type of thinking is used constantly in our daily lives in order to help us make decisions on every subject imaginable. However, this characteristic is specially important for researchers, as it allows them to rely solely on facts and observation in order to reach their conclusions, as opposed to bias, prejudice or superstition.
