This question is more of an opinion question, there's not really a right or wrong answer I believe, but I'll explain. There are a few different options here when dealing with forensic science recording. There's writing down (notes), there's videotaping the scene (videography), there's (photography), simply just taking pictures of the scene, and lastly, there's sketching, (drawing) the scene out into a notebook or on paper. I personally would use Videography because I believe it provides a lot more footage to view. Say, for instance, you forgot to take a picture from a certain angle, but if you were recording, there's a chance it slipped into the video anyway. Since videos are just a large compilation if fast-moving images, it provides a lot more angles and different frames, (single images) to view.
