You are visiting your friend and a taxi company charges a flat fee of $3.00 for using the taxi and $0.75 per mile. Which of the following statements are true?

I. The equation f(x)=0.75x+3 where x is the number of miles and f(x) is the total cost can be used to model this situation.

II. f(4)=6 means that for 6 miles the total cost is $4

III. f(x)=30 means the total cost is $30

IV. If your friend lives 2 miles away, you will be expected to pay a total of $4.50

Out of the 4 answers given to solve this problem, the correct answers would be I. equation f(x)=0.75x+3 where x is the number of miles and f(x) is the total cost can be used to model this situation and IV. If your friend lives 2 miles away, you will be expected to pay a total of $4.50 If you can only choose one answer I'd say to go for the first one.

But why might be the reason I choseboth I and IV. they're the most reasonable. lets look at II. Where in the explination does it mention anything about it being 6 miles from your current point to your friends house? Never. so it is obviously not II.

Now lets look at III. Again, where in the explination does it mention anything about there being a total cost. There isnt one because you dont know how long the trip will be with the information provided.

Lets examine IV. This answer gives you what we suppose is more information from the passage. They said that if he lived 2 miles away, you would have to pay $4.50. when we do the math, this is correct. 3.00 plus the 1.50 from the 2 miles (.75+.75) does equal 4.50.

HOPE THIS HELPED. THIS TOOK ME 20 MINUTES TO WRITE, SO A 5 STAR, A HEART AND PUTTING MY ANSWER AS THE "BRAINLIEST ANSWER" WOULD VERY MUCH APRECIATED!!! HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY!!!
