The Alsreef battle was a battle between Kuwait and the emirate of Jabal Shammar. One of the main reasons that triggered the start of the battle was the decision of Kuwait to sign the protection agreement of Great Britain in 1899, this was not welcomed by some emirates, raising the tension that already existed between them and provoking the battle which took place on March 18, 1901 and ended with the victory of Jabal Shammar and defeat of Kuwait.
The Kuwaitis were captured and the majority were executed in a cold snague, after the defeat, it is estimated that of the 1,200 Kuwaitis who participated in the war, only 150 were not killed during the cambate.
