Heron and the Hummingbird
Explanation:
I believe that the theme of "Heron and the Hummingbird" is "slow and steady wins the race". Quite similar to the plot in Aesop's "The Tortoise and The Hare", the slow and patient Heron races the tiny but quick Hummingbird. Though one might assume that the hummingbird would win the race because it is faster than the heron, we are shown in the myth that everything is not as it seems (this point could also be elaborated on and turned into a theme). The hummingbird is quick, but has a short attention span and gets distracted by pretty flowers with delicious nectar. After having to rush to catch up to the heron, the hummingbird quickly becomes tired and is forced to rest in the night. Though the hummingbird believes that he is in the clear, the heron is making steady progress. The heron is patient and by flying constantly his work pays off and he makes it to the tree while the hummingbird sleeps
