Im trying to solve this but don’t understand how m-3(-5x+2)+x=42

-3(-5x+2)+x=42
Distribute the -3 to the -5 and 2 so you would be left with
15x-6+x=42
Then you combine like terms and the x’s
16x-6=42
Add the 6 to the 42
16x=48
Then divide by 16 on both sides
X=3
